8 projects have been granted licenses in Chu Lai Economic Zone since the beginning of the year, according to its management board.
Officials said that the aggregate registered capital of the 8 projects amounted to US$ 274 million or 140 per cent of the figure of the whole year of 2009.
Of these, large projects include Tam Hiep Seaport and Logistics Site, Truong Hai Bus Plant and Minh Duong Chu Lai Timber Processing Plant.
Right after receiving the licenses, 5 of the projects started being implemented.
So far, 60 projects in the economic zone have been given licenses with the total registered investment of US$ 1.2 billion and of these 35 projects are being implemented, providing 8,500 local labour jobs, according to officials.
