An agreement worth US $1.5 million was signed on October 19th between the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Vietnamese Government.

Accordingly, the Japanese Government will provide non-refundable aid to help Vietnam standardize under-managed micro financial programs in an effort to improve financial and banking services, and boost financial support for poor people.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ayumi Konishi, ADB country Director in Vietnam said that the signing of the non-refundable aid could be seen as an important mark in micro finance.

With the aid, 5 Vietnamese micro financial programs will be deployed, and Vietnamese finance is expected to finally be able to officially integrate in the regional network.
