A ceremony to inaugurate the Hiep Phuoc Fertilizer Factory on Sep 20 was organised by Southern Fertilizer Company at Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park B, Nha Be District, Ho Chi Minh City.

Located on an area of up to 7ha, it has been officially brought into operation for the first phase after 19 months of construction and at the cost of 173 billion VND.

Equipped with an advanced steam-based technology, it can produce 300,000 tonnes of fertilizer per year.

According to Nguyen Tan Dat, the company director, the factory will churn out 800,000 tonnes of fertilizer by 2009.
