Delegates pressing buttons to start New Year production of the SNP

PANO – The Saigon Newport (SNP) Corporation of the Vietnam People’s Navy held a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on February 7th to welcome the Lunar New Year’s Eve and start its New Year operation.

Present at the event were Chairman of the city People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong and Vice Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Tat Thanh Cang among others.

Last year, the corporation successfully fulfilled its business missions while continuously strengthening defence-security work.

It continues to be rated as one of Vietnam’s leading ports. Notably, its Cat Lai port ranks 30th among the biggest cargo entreports worldwide.

In 2015, the corporation put the newly-built Hiep Phuoc port into operation while improving its logistics and export-import services. Its revenue reached VND 15 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 22 per cent, in 2015. Apart from its business, the corporation also spent billions of VND on welfare activities.

At the ceremony, leaders of Ho Chi Minh City wished the company’s staff a happy New Year and believed that it would achieve more results in the coming time.
