Petrovietnam ranks 11th in Fortune Southeast Asia 500 |
This recognition highlights Petrovietnam’s impressive revenue performance and operational resilience in a volatile global market. It also marks the group’s first appearance in a regional and international corporate ranking.
Fortune Southeast Asia 500, part of Fortune’s globally respected ranking system, evaluates companies based on their most recent fiscal-year revenue. However, the inclusion in the list also reflects sustained internal strength and long-term commitment to sustainable growth. In 2024, the energy sector remained dominant, accounting for nearly one-third of total revenue across the ranking, with Petrovietnam standing out as Vietnam’s leading representative in the industry.
Petrovietnam’s debut in the list underscores its strategic management, adaptability to global market fluctuations, and ability to seize opportunities amid global supply chain restructuring. The group has proactively implemented modern governance practices, enhanced operational efficiency, and maintained a strong focus on sustainable development.
In 2024, Petrovietnam overcame numerous challenges to exceed all key targets by 6–27%, setting several new records. For the first time, the group’s total revenue surpassed 1 quadrillion VND (approximately 38.2 billion USD). It contributed 165.6 trillion VND to the State budget and invested more than 38 trillion VND, a 49% increase over 2023.
The group also expanded its traditional operations, took the lead in offshore energy development, and for the first time participated in the global energy value chain. By the end of 2024, Petrovietnam had fully met all financial targets set for the 2021–2025 period, exceeding projections by 6–32%.
According to Fortune, 76 Vietnamese companies made the 2025 list, collectively generating more than 161 billion USD in revenue and employing over 1.1 million workers. Among them, Petrovietnam stands out as a key contributor, reaffirming its role as the flagship firm of Vietnam’s energy sector and a leading regional energy enterprise.
This is the second year Fortune Southeast Asia 500 has been published, underscoring the rapid rise of Southeast Asian enterprises as the region emerges as a global hub for manufacturing and investment amid shifting global value chains.
