A ceremony to honour 200 young entrepreneurs with Gold Star Awards was held in Hanoi by the Vietnam Young Business Association on October 15.
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh praised the great contributions by the young businesses to helping Vietnam achieve middle income status.
The awards this year attracted a large number of businesses, which indicates they are held in high prestige in both the business community and general society.
The Party and State will continue making policies to create favourable conditions for businesses in Vietnam, said Mr Ninh.
He asked businesses to restructure, increase operational capital, improve human resources and manufacture high quality products.
The organizing board of the awards should serve as a link between top Vietnamese trademarks and promote them in the global market, said the Deputy PM.
The 200 trademarks selected for the 2011 Gold Star Awards have earned total revenue of VND700 trillion, contributed VD46 trillion to the State budget and created 380,000 jobs.
Over the past nine years, the Gold Star Awards have become Vietnam’s largest program supporting the Politburo's "Vietnamese people use Vietnamese goods" campaign and implementing the Government’s Resolution 11 to curb inflation, stablise the macroeconomy and ensure social welfare.
