PANO - Twenty-six young talented experts from PetroVietnam on October 4 participated in the first-ever training course on management and technical skills opened in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam by the GE Oil & Gas University of the US GE Group.

During the month-long course, the trainees will be provided with knowledge of leadership, energy and process and equipment by experts from GE Group and other leading organizations.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Mr. Pham Nhu Khanh, Deputy General Director of PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP) spoke highly of GE Group’s efforts in promoting PetroVietnam’s human resource capabilities.

Khanh stressed, “The course provides a good opportunity for  26 Vietnamese trainees to enrich professional knowledge and acquire additional necessary technical skills and leadership that will help them develop their careers and make more contributions to the oil and gas industry’s sustainable development”.

For his part, Mr. Visal Leng, GE Oil & Gas’ General Director in Asia Pacific region held that GE Group and PetroVietnam’s training cooperation initiative aims to develop human resources and provide necessary skills for young talented cadres who will be key forces in developing Vietnam’s oil and gas industry in the future.

Visal Leng expressed the university’s hope that with what they gained during the course, Vietnam’s oil and gas industry’s experts of the next generation would become successful men in a fast-changing environment.

The course was part of the group’s commitments to training personnel for Vietnam.
