Winmart duty-free supermarket, owned by the Thien Linh Co., Ltd., came into operation on May 17th at the Moc Bai bordergate economic zone in the southern province of Tay Ninh.
Huynh Cong Thien, CEO of the Thien Linh company, revealed that the supermarket, built on an area of 7,200 sq.m., at a total cost of over VND100 billion, will sell over 20,000 items, such as food, chemical products, textiles and garments, electrical appliances, beverages and utensils. Around 70 percent are made-in-Vietnam products, and the remainderare imported from Europe, the U.S, Australia and ASEAN countries.
According to Moc Bai bordergate economic zone’s management board, over 60 businesses have been licensed to sell duty-free products so far, and Winmart is the largest one of its kind in the area.
