The Da Nang Municipal People’s Committee on July 20th held a ceremony to present awards to local enterprises that had effectively applied information technology (IT) in their business and production.
Da Nang is one of several localities in Vietnam that have issued policies that encourage businesses and organisations to apply IT in production and business.
At the ceremony, telecoms and information and communication technology (ICT) firms that contributed much to the city’s telecommunication and ICT development in 2010 were also honoured.
According to reports from the Municipal Department of Information and Communication, the IT turnover reached VND 1,798 billion, up by 15 per cent, and exported IT software valued at US$ 11 million in 2010.
Major export markets of local IT firms are Japan, South Korea and the US.
