After two weeks implementing the mobile number portability (MNP) service, which allows customers to switch networks without changing their phone numbers, thousands of subscribers of other mobile networks wanted to move to the Viettel network, according to the company.

In order to better its service, the company has planned to help the customers switch their network at home.
Particularly, apart from switching the network at over 1,000 Viettel transaction points and official agents nationwide, customers have three choices: to hit the website viettel.vn/chuyenmanggiuso, use the mobile app “My Viettel,” and call the customer care switchboard of 18008098 (free of charge). After receiving adequate information, Viettel staff will go to the customer’s house to support.
Cao Thi Thu Huyen, Deputy General Director of Viettel Telecom, said that the network switching offers a great opportunity for all network operators to improve their services. With the switching procedure being conducted at customer’s house, Viettel Telecom aims to give wholehearted support to its clients, she said.
Currently, Viettel is the largest operator in Vietnam with more than 100,000 2G, 3G and 4G stations, covering over 95 percent of the population. Notably, it has 37,000 4G Base Transceiver Stations (BTSs) using the world’s latest technology of 4-transmit-4-receiver (4T4R). Besides the increasingly expanded telecommunications infrastructure and improved services, Viettel Telecom also regularly offers promotion programs in favor of all subscribers.
