Viettel contributes nearly VND 9.5 trillion to State budget in Q1
PANO - Despite the heavy impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the national and global economy, the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) has contributed VND 9.4 trillion to the State budget in the first quarter of this year, meeting 100 percent of its set target and being the same year-over-year, as revealed by the group on April 17.

In the first quarter, Viettel developed a number of technological solutions to support the Government and people in COVID-19 prevention and control.
The group has developed an online working platform, helping the Ministry of Health and 22 major hospitals across the country enhance management and exchange professional information. It has also built a network connecting the Ministry of Health with 700 health facilities nationwide and a chat room on Mocha app for the National Steering Board for COVID-19 Prevention and Control to discuss out effective COVID-19 preventive measures.
Moreover, Viettel Telecom also supported the Ministry of Health’s portal on COVID-19 prevention and control with 550,000 free calls and designed and ran the website suckhoetoandan.vn. It developed an app on COVID-19 and a health declaration system in both Vietnamese and English. Especially, the company built an app for doctors, helping them monitor their patients.
The group also offered free e-learning accounts on its ViettelStudy platform to both teachers and students during social distancing.
Notably, it has offered various preferential packages for forces on the frontline of the fight against COVID-19 and those in concentrated quarantine areas.
The company has also doubled the capacity of its optical fiber cable network while keeping prices unchanged until the pandemic is over.
