In his speech, Senior Colonel Hoang Van Nguyen, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy General Director of Thai Son Corporation, emphasized that the company, formerly known as the Tropical Science and Technology Application Company (TROPICO) under the Vietnam-Soviet Union Tropical Center (present Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center), was established on April 22, 1991. Guided by the motto “Pioneering as soldiers,” it now comprises 20 affiliated units with more than 5,000 cadres, employees and workers.

The corporation operates in multiple sectors, including bomb and mine clearance, construction of defense works in remote, border and island areas, and development of airports, seaports, border patrol roads and projects directly linked to the country’s defensive posture.

According to the officer, Thai Son Corporation’s business operation has seen stable annual growth of 8% - 10%. Profits, state budget contributions and average employee income have all met and exceeded targets, while many tasks have been completed with outstanding results. The corporation’s Party organization has been healthy and strong. Attentively, during the 2021-2025 period, the corporation generated a revenue of more than VND 25 trillion, up 174%, while sustaining an annual growth rate of 8% - 10%.

In the new stage of development, the spirit of “what is said must be done, what is committed must be fulfilled, and what is implemented must bear fruit” has enabled the corporation to further expand into trade, import-export, industrial park infrastructure investment, logistics, agro-fishery processing and technology transfer.

Addressing the ceremony, Gen. Ngoc highly praised the company’s achievements. He asked it to continue firmly grasping its functions and duties, while proactively leading, directing and effectively implementing assigned tasks.

The defense leader urged it to reorganize, innovate, improve production and business efficiency, restructure and consolidate its organizational apparatus and staffing in accordance with the Ministry of National Defense’s decision on recognizing it as a defense and security unit.

He requested the corporation to instruct its affiliates to accelerate governance reform, enhance competitiveness, and develop production and business strategies suited to their operational models so as to create breakthroughs in business performance and meet integration and development requirements.

The corporation was also asked to ensure efficient and law-compliant operations, maintain annual double-digit growth rate, preserve state capital, sustain employment and income for workers, ensure social welfare, and contribute significantly to national construction and defense.

The Deputy Minister also laid stress on the continuity of promoting its strengths and lessons learned in joint ventures and defense diplomacy, effective participation in major national socio-economic and defense-security programs and projects, thus further affirming the position and role of military enterprises.

Other tasks for the company included active implementation of measures to improve qualifications and capabilities of its personnel, strengthening discipline and industrial working style, enhancement of labor productivity and quality, thorough preparations for international integration, and close attention to the material and spiritual life of its personnel.
