BIS to support Vietnam in banking infrastructure development, digital transformation
PANO – On September 21, in Hanoi, Mr. Tran Tuan Anh, Head of the Party Central Committee's Economic Commission, hosted a reception for Mr. Agustin Carstens, General Manager of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS).
During the meeting, Chairman Tran Tuan Anh proposed that BIS continue to enhance its role in developing payment and financial infrastructure in Asia, including Vietnam. This would help countries quickly adopt new technologies, ensure smooth transactions between nations and territories, and enhance cybersecurity and the global financial system's security.

BIS General Manager Agustin Carstens highly praised the Party and the Vietnamese government's policies in stabilizing macroeconomic conditions, increasing international integration, and promoting digital transformation and innovation. He expressed strong agreement with the proposals put forth by Mr. Tran Tuan Anh and also shared some specific ideas and solutions.
Mr. Agustin Carstens affirmed that BIS would continue to collaborate and support the State Bank of Vietnam in investing in the development of payment and financial infrastructure, promoting digital transformation, and contributing to improving risk management in the banking sector.
