Vietnam wins first gold medal at SEA Games 32
PANO – On the afternoon of May 2, in Cambodia, Vietnam's snail chess (also known as Khmer chess) team won the first gold medal for the Vietnam Sports Delegation at SEA Games 32, in the women's doubles 60-minute event.
Playing in a round-robin format with two rounds to determine rankings, the Vietnamese snail chess team, with the duo Phuong Thao - Hong An, won their fifth consecutive match by defeating the Philippines team 3-1, thereby winning the gold medal before the final round.

The SEA Games (Southeast Asian Games) is a biennial multi-sport event that involves athletes from the 11 countries of Southeast Asia. The 32nd edition of the SEA Games is being held in Cambodia from May 5 to May 17, 2023. The event features 56 sports, including traditional martial arts, esports, and obstacle course racing, with more than 10,000 athletes competing.
