SEA Games 29: Vietnam earns third gold in pencak silat
Nguyen Van Tri pocketed one more gold in pencak silat for Vietnam on August 29 at the ongoing 29th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 29) in Malaysia.

Tri defeated Singaporean rival Muhammad Shakir 5-0 in their tanding (combat) match in the men’s 90-kg event.
Before Tri’s victory, two members of the Vietnamese pencak silat team, Pham Thi Tuoi and Nguyen Duy Tuyen, successfully secured two gold medals for Vietnam.
The same day, Vietnamese taekwondo artist Nguyen Van Duy earned a silver medal after losing to his Indonesian rival Ibramin Zarman 12-26 the final match in the men’s 63-kg event.
In the final match of the men’s under 77-kg event, weightlifter Nguyen Hong Ngoc finished second with an overall 307kg lift, adding another silver medal to Vietnam’s metal tally.
The gold medal in the event went to Indonesian lifter Ketut Ariana with a lift of 325 kg.
