Winners of writing contest on protecting Party’s ideological foundation in new situation prized

Speaking at the event on behalf of the leaders of the GDP, Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To, Deputy Chief of the GDP, acknowledged and praised the People’s Army Newspaper for its pro-activeness, acumen and creativity in coordinating and promoting the strength of press agencies nationwide in disseminating information and fighting to protect the Party’s ideological foundation.

After five years, the contest continues to affirm the pioneering role of the People’s Army Newspaper on the ideological and cultural front. In its fifth season, the organizing panel evaluated that the entries made a strong breakthrough in both scale and quality. The magazine block stood out with profound specialized treatises, resolutely defending Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh’s thought, and the Party’s renewal guidelines.

Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister General Nguyen Tan Cuong and Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education and Mass Mobilization, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, and President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh present awards to the authors and author groups winning the C prize.

Deputy Chiefs of the General Department of Political Affairs Senior Lieutenant General Do Xuan Tung and Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh present certificates of merit to collectives with active contributions to the contest over the past five years.

Meanwhile, the central and local newspaper block directly broke hostile plots and distorted allegations about the streamlining of the apparatus, personnel work, documents of the 14th National Party Congress, Politburo’s resolutions, and preparations for the election of the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 tenure. Notably, the press resolutely rejected arguments denying the righteous nature of the resistance war against American invaders to save the country.

At the ceremony, leaders presented awards to 31 outstanding entries by authors and author groups, including three A, six B, nine C, and 13 consolation prizes.

Launching the sixth writing contest (2026-2027), Editor-in-Chief of the People’s Army Newspaper Major General Doan Xuan Bo emphasized that the success of the fifth edition has significantly contributed to forging an all-Party and all-people posture in protecting the Party’s ideological foundation in the new situation.
