PANO - U19 Vietnam players arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on January 4th for the International U19 Football Tournament-Nutifood Cup 2014 at the Thong Nhat Stadium after a month long training at the Ham Rong Sports Training Centre of the HAGL Arsenal JMG Football Academy in Gia Lai province.
U19 Vietnam received huge support from local fans after their outstanding performances at the 2013 ASEAN Football Tournament and the 2014 AFC U-19 Championship. The squad, with members mostly from the HAGL Arsenal Academy, is the new hope of Vietnam football.
From January 3rd to 5th, the guests for the tourney Japan, Tottenham and AS Roma were respectively present in Ho Chi Minh City. Of them, Japan and Tottenham had short training sessions at Military Zone 7’s stadium to get acquainted with the local weather.
In the evening of January 5th, the four participants sit in a press conference at the REX hotel.
The opening match between Tottenham and Japan will take place at 3:40pm on January 6 and the second will start at 6:00pm of the same day.
They will compete in a round robin format to select the champion, who will receive a US$ 100,000 prize.
