Participants in the Sudirman Cup competition are divided into groups based on the teams’ levels. Only teams in Group 1 qualify to compete for the final championship title. The top team of lower groups will be upgraded to higher groups in the next year.
The Sudirman Cup, one of the most prestigious badminton titles, is held every two years. This year’s event took place at Putra Stadium in Malaysia’s capital city of Kuala Lumpur, from May 19-26.
