Pham Quoc Khanh claimed the first gold for Viet Nam on November 15, the third day of the ninth World Wushu Championships 2007 in China.
Wushu artist Khanh scored 9.66 points in men’s Nandao to take gold.
Earlier, Vu Tra My took silver in the women’s Qianshu with 9.56 points and her teammate Vu Thuy Linh bagged bronze in the women’s Nanquan with 9.40 points.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Thanh Tung and Tran Duc Trong clinched bronze medals in the men’s Taijiquan and Daoshu with 9.49 and 9.58 points, respectively.
Other Vietnamese wushu artists entered the sanshou (combat) semifinals.
