Having disappeared from the market for 20 years now, pottery products of the old village of Phuoc Tich in Hue city will be introduced during the Hue Festival 2010.
As many as 600 newly-baked products have made the village’s artisans pleased.
Mr Le Trong Dien, one of the two artisans responsible for the baking, happily said that “This is the first experimental batch of pottery products, but the finished product comes as a surprise to us”.
The strong and bright colored products have been hand-made and baked at high temperature.
Elderly Nguyen Thi Huong, aged 76, touchingly said that “It is promising to revitalise our village’s traditional trade”.
The revitalisation of the traditional trade in Phuoc Tich village is supported by the Vietnam Art and Literature Research Institute in Hue city. In the near future, the Institute will help artisans create new designs for Phuoc Tich pottery products, as souvenirs for visitors to Hue city.
