PANO - Vietnam’s top badminton player, Tien Minh, headed to Shanghai for the 2012 Open China Badminton Tournament, scheduled to take place from November 13th to 18th.
The Vietnamese player is seeded 7 as two of the world’s top players, Lee Chong Wei (Malaysia) and Lin Dan (China), will not take part in the tournament.
However, other world’s Top 10 players, such as Chen Long (China, world No. 3), Santoro (Indonesia, world No. 5) and Tago (Japan, world No. 9), will participate in this tournament.
Experts assessed that this tourney, whose total prize fund reaches US $400,000, will be a good opportunity for Tien Minh to gain more points for a place in the world’s Top 10.
