PANO- The second Tam Giac Mach (Triangle Oat) Flower Festival under the theme “Da no hoa” (Karst Plateau in blossom) was kicked off on October 15 in Dong Van district, with the participation of delegates from relevant ministries, agencies, and departments, locals, and domestic and foreign tourists.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Ha Giang provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Son stressed that the festival aims to introduce the image of Tam Giac Mach flowers, a speciality of the locality, to domestic and foreign tourists, and show of the vitality of locals.
The festival is part of an action plan to tap the province’s tourism potential, with an aim of attracting more tourists to the province and improving locals’ lives in the Karst Plateau.
The three-day festival, covering the districts of Dong Van, Quan Ba, Yen Minh and Meo Vac, includes a number of interesting activities for tourists, such as a street parade with traditional music and performances by actors in local ethnic costumes, a puppet show, and a dummy circus show.
On this occasion, up to 3,000 tourists a day visited Vuong’s home historical relic site, Lung Cu National flagpole, Lung Cam cultural village. The localities in the Dong Van Karst Plateau hope to welcome 120,000 tourists, a twofold increase year on year.
