Artist Thai Thi Lien was born in 1918. She began studying piano at the age of four at a Christian elementary school for French children for seven years. When she was 11 years old, Lien studied piano with a famous French pianist, Armande Caron, who had herself won the first prize for piano at the Conservatoire de Paris.

Over the past 20 years, Lien has edited many programs and documents for the Vietnam National Academy of Music to train the first generation of professional Vietnamese pianists such as Nguyen Huu Tuan, Hoang My, Tuyet Minh, Tran Thu Ha, Do Hong Quan, and Dang Thai Son, who, incidentally, is her son as well as the first Asian pianist to win first prize at the International Chopin Piano Competition.

Besides, Lien also performed in many events. She was the first pianist who performed recital programs in the late 1950s in Hanoi and participated in various concerts with Soviet artists such as Prof. Khodjaev (violin) and Fedoshenko (violoncello) at the Hanoi and Hai Phong Opera Houses.

Accordingly, she will perform with her students at the “Golden Century” concert. The highlight of the concert will be the performance of People's Artist Dang Thai Son. He will tell the stories by music about his meaningful memories and his mother - artist Thai Thi Lien.

The concert is scheduled to take place on November 23 at the Grand Hall of the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
