Program featuring RoK culture launched in Hanoi
A program featuring the culture of the Republic of Korea took place in Ly Thai To flower garden in Hanoi on April 8-9.
The event was jointly organised by the Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) and the municipal People’s Committee as part of activities to mark the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between Vietnam and the RoK.

It was attended by Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung and Ambassador of the RoK to Vietnam Lee Hyuk.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Ngo Van Quy, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee underlined the growing relationship between the two nations over the past 25 years, affirming that the RoK is among the top partners of Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular in all fields, particularly in foreign direct investment, education – training, and culture.
The event presents opportunities to local people to understand more about the people and culture of the RoK, Quy added.
The program featured numerous activities, including traditional and modern art performances, tourism promotion activities.
KTO Director General Jung Chang Soo said as many as 1.5 million RoK people visited Vietnam in 2016. The country also recorded remarkable growth in the number of Vietnamese arrivals, with a 54.4-percent rise in 2016, and an increase of 30.1 percent in the first quarter of this year.
KTO will boost tourism promotion in localities to lure more Vietnamese tourists to the RoK, such as introducing the FIFA U-20 World Cup, which will take place in the RoK and other tourism products, he said.
