Speaking at the event, Editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh, who is also Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission for Information and Education and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, expressed his belief in the Vietnamese press’s development.

Minh also pointed out that common challenges facing the press in the coming time are how to attract public attention and underlined that press agencies should work together to better perform their assigned tasks in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam addresses the event.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam noted that the past year was a difficult time for the press due to the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, all press agencies in the country have joined hands to overcome the disease. Hence, they need to adapt to the new normal state and anticipate risks, thereby making clear communication orientations, to help people understand the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies.

The Deputy Prime Minister also asked State agencies to be more responsible and proactive in providing the press with prompt and accurate information, affirming the need to develop a large database system to connect press agencies together, towards better serving communications and dissemination works in the near future and promoting the press to a new height.
