Ms. Ramla Khalidi, UNDP Resident Representative to Vietnam, commended Vietnam’s commitment to U.N. peacekeeping missions and efforts to increase female participation above the regional average rate and even higher than U.N. gender equality targets. She stressed that Vietnam’s adoption of the first National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security is a clearer evidence to its commitment to empowering women. UNDP pledged to support Vietnam’s ongoing efforts to advance gender equality and empower women across all fields, including peace and security.
