The exhibition is organized to recreate the glorious historical journey of the Vietnamese nation, from the establishment of the Viet Bac revolutionary base to the great victory of Dien Bien Phu Campaign in 1954. It also introduces the achievements in the Doi moi (renewal) cause and development of Dien Bien province today.

The four-day exhibition features 75 outstanding photographs and documents displayed in three sections, namely the Viet Bac revolutionary base, Dien Bien Phu Campaign, and Dien Bien today.
The exhibition highlights the specially important role of the Viet Bac revolutionary base, which was regarded as the “cradle” of the Vietnamese revolution, where President Ho Chi Minh and the Party Central Committee directly led the resistance war against the French colonialists. In this revolutionary base, many major strategic decisions were made, paving the way for significant victories such as the Viet Bac Autumn-Winter Campaign in 1947, the Border Campaign in 1950, and the Northwest Campaign in 1952, which created the decisive foundation for Dien Bien Phu Campaign.

Notably, the exhibition reflects the spirit of solidarity, unwavering determination, and strategic vision of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh in the struggle for national liberation. The complete victory of Dien Bien Phu Campaign forced the French colonialists to sign the 1954 Geneva Accords, ending the war of aggression in Indochina.
The “Dien Bien Today” section introduces the province’s outstanding achievements in building and developing the homeland in the modern era, reflecting the transformation of this heroic historical land.

The exhibition also showcases notable historical relics, scenic landscapes, and attractive tourist destinations that draw large numbers of visitors to Dien Bien. Through this, it promotes the province’s natural beauty, traditional cultural identity, representative festivals, as well as the friendly and hospitable image of the people of Dien Bien. The distinctive cultural values of the ethnic communities in the province continue to be preserved and promoted, helping affirm Dien Bien’s cultural and tourism potential and strengths.
Through documents and photos, the exhibition is expected to contribute to educating the public, especially the young generation, about patriotism, national pride, and revolutionary spirit, while reaffirming the immense historical significance of the victory of Dien Bien Phu Campaign in the past national liberation and the ongoing cause of national construction and defense.
