The "Portraits of the Soldier" photo contest, launched by PAN in October, 2023, aims to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding day of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - 2024), and the 35th anniversary of the Whole People’s Defense Festive Day (December 22, 1989 - 2024).

Eligible participants of the contest are Vietnamese citizens, including those living, studying, or working abroad, and foreigners residing, studying, or working in Vietnam. The submitted works reflect the activities of officers, soldiers, defense employees, throughout the entire military, as well as the militia and self-defense forces, in training, combat readiness, production, natural disaster prevention and control missions, gratitude activities, mass mobilization, external affairs, culture and sports events.

Major General Doan Xuan Bo thanked the delegates for attending the gathering and suggested photographers to actively participate in the contest to promote the military of military soldiers. The organizers hope that agencies and units will create favorable conditions for photography enthusiasts who love the military to produce high-quality entries for the contest, he added.
