As many as 71 “thuy mac” (ink-and-wash) paintings on Vietnam’s land and people are on display in Hanoi to celebrate the capital’s millennium anniversary and raise fund for the poor.

Through his paintings, painter Truong Han Minh depicts the beloved country, landscapes, villages, Hanoi capital city with interesting places.

He also shows ink-and-wash paintings illustrating Uncle Ho’s poems.

Painter Truong Han Minh was born in 1951. His works were exhibited for more than 50 times in the country and overseas such as in Malaysia , France , the United States , China , Japan , Australia and Laos .

The exhibition lasts till 13 at the Vietnam Fine Art Museum at 66 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street . Painter Truong Han Minh will donate half of money from the exhibition to the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Fund for the Poor.

The ink-and-wash technique of painting originated from China in which both watercolour and tempera are used to create the desired effect.
