PANO – The Vietnamese Folklore Festival of the Central Highlands 2013, jointly organized by the Centre of Vietnam Television in Da Nang City, the Kon Tum provincial People’s Committee, and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and People’s Committee of Konplong district, ended on March 6th in Konplong district.

Opened on March 5th, the event attracted the participation of 70 folklore artists from ethnic minority groups such as M'nong, Ede, Xe Dang and Gia Rai, in five Central Highland provinces of Lam Dong, Dac Nong, Dac Lac, Gia Lai and Kon Tum. 

The same day, 40 artisans from nine cities and districts of Kon Tum province took part in a statue sculpting festival in Mang Den Vocational Centre.

Reportedly, at the end of the festival, the organizing panel of the festival will select 100 outstanding folklore works, reflecting the establishment and development of Kon Tum province over the past 100 years, to display in the Statue Garden of Pa Si Fall Culture and Tourism Complex in Konplong district.

Besides, a ceremony will be organized on March 17th to announce the decision of Prime Minister on building Mang Den Eco-Tourism Area.
