Art program features 80th anniversary of VPA General Staff’s traditional day
PANO – On September 5, the art program “Epic song of victory,” directed by the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, with content overseen by the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA), and jointly organized by the General Staff’s Department of Political Affairs and the Military Broadcasting Center, took place at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Hanoi.
The program was held to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the VPA General Staff’s foundation day (September 7, 1945 – 2025).

Attending the event were General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense; General Trinh Van Quyet, Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs of the VPA; General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the VPA and Deputy Minister of National Defense, along with other current and former leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, representatives of central and local agencies, and units under the defense ministry.
The program “Epic song of victory” highlighted the role of the General Staff as the crucial and strategic advisory body of the VPA, and honored 80 years of building, combat, and growth of generations of its officers and soldiers, worthy of being the top-level advisory and command organ of the VPA and Vietnam’s militia and self-defense forces.
Earlier, at Kinh Thien Palace in the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, a delegation of senior officers from the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, led by General Phan Van Giang, offered incense and flowers to commemorate past emperors and national heroes who contributed to the country, paying tribute to their sacrifices in defending and developing the nation.
