Ho Chi Minh City holds Chung cake festival and calligraphy contest
PANO – The Border Guard Command of Ho Chi Minh City and the city’s Students’ Cultural House held a Chung cake (Vietnamese traditional cake for the Lunar New Year) festival and a calligraphy contest on January 22 at the Border Post of Nha Rong Border Gate.
Participating troops of the city’s border force and students formed various teams, such as Nha Rong, Hiep Phuoc and Binh Thanh, competing in wrapping Chung cakes and writing calligraphic letters and parallel sentences. The program concluded with an art performance at the border post. The activity has contributed to tightening relations between the border unit and the city’s students’ cultural house.
* The same day, the Labor Union of Export Processing Zones – Industrial Parks of Ho Chi Minh City also held a Chung cake wrapping contest with the participation of 14 teams of workers working at the city’s export processing zones and industrial parks. The organizing panel also held an apricot and peach blossom making contest, bringing fun and happiness to the workers.
