The Ho Chi Minh City International Football Tournament 2011 will take place at the Thong Nhat stadium, HCMC, from September 20th to 24th, with the participation of four teams, namely, U23 Vietnam, U23 Singapore, the Republic of Korea’s student team and the Aspire Academy’s youth team.
The team from Qatar’s Aspire Academy will join the event, instead of the North Korea’s team as was previously expected.
The event is a good opportunity for the U23 Vietnam’s players to improve their skills for the upcoming 26th SEA Games, especially for promising players Thanh Luong, Long Giang, Trong Hoang, Dinh Tung, Van Quyet, and so on.
The participants will compete in a round-robin format. After the opening ceremony on September 20th, the Vietnamese team will play the Republic of Korea’s student team, and Aspire Academy’s young team on September 22nd, and U23 Singapore on September 24th.
The champion will win a prize of US$ 20,000 in cash while the runner-up and third place will get US$ 10,000 and US$5,000, respectively.
