It is also hoping to expand the Vietnamese cinema market, thus promoting the country’s image to international friends.

Films for the competition are selected from many countries and territories around the world, some of which have never competed in international film festivals in Asia.

Meanwhile, non-competition film screenings will be held, introducing new feature films, documentaries, and animations films from Vietnam, along with some of the Iranian films which won awards at the Cannes, Berlin, and Oscar film festivals, as well as works from other countries.

The screenings will take place at the National Cinema Center, the Kim Dong movie theater, the CGV Vincom Center cinema, and the BHD Star Vincom cinema.

A wide range of awards will be presented at the end of the event, including those for best film, director, and actor/actress.

As part of the event, a HANIFF script-writing camp, film project market, free screenings, and film discussions will be arranged. Seminars to share the experiences of filmmakers from Poland and Iran will help local artists, managers, and the public understand more about world cinema.

The opening and closing ceremonies of the event will be broadcast live on VTV2 and VTV1 channels of the Vietnam Television on October 27 and 31, respectively.
