PANO - Eighteen outstanding Vietnamese feature films will compete at the 3rd Hanoi International Film Festival 2014 (HANIFF), to be kicked off in Hanoi and broadcast live on Vietnam Television channels 1 and 4 on November 23rd, said organizing board on October 29th.

The event is jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Cinematography of Hanoi’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism with the participation of 320 films from 32 countries and territories.
Themed “Cinematography – Integration and Sustainable Development”, the festival is to honour outstanding humanitarian films, promote cooperation among film producers, encourage new talents in Asia-Pacific region as well as popularize a beautiful and hospitable Vietnam to the outside world.
The films will be judged by Director of Moscow International Film Festival Prof. Dr. Kirill Razlogov, Canadian film producer Niv Fichman, Filipino director Peque Gallaga, the Republic of Korea’s director Lee Doo Yong and Vietnamese actress Pham Thi Hong Anh.
In the framework of the event, there will be programs introducing outstanding Vietnamese and international cinematographic works, a HANIFF talent campus, a film making project, an exhibition and a seminar. Participating films will be screened at the National Cinema Centre, the Kim Dong Theatre, the August Theatre and cinemas at Vincom Center and Mipec Tower.
