Ceremony held in celebration of Uncle Ho’s visit to MR4 armed forces
PANO – Military Region 4 (MR4), on June 15 in Vinh city, Nghe An province, held an art exchange on the occasion of 65 years since Uncle Ho visited the local armed forces (June 15, 1957). The exchange is part of the activities in celebration of the region’s 10th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (2022-2027).
Addressing the opening ceremony, MR4’s Political Commissar Lieutenant General Tran Vo Dung underscored that President Ho Chi Minh visited the region three times, and sent letters of praise 36 times as well as presented many gifts to MR4 armed forces.
Following Uncle Ho’s teachings, throughout its construction and development, the region has always promoted the noble virtues of the Vietnam People’s Army and its heroic traditions. In any circumstances, in both wartime and peacetime, they have always overcome difficulties to best fulfill all assigned tasks.
During the program, there was an exchange with people who were historical witnesses, persons conferred with the title “Hero of the People's Armed Forces,” experts doing research on President Ho Chi Minh and outstanding officers and soldiers of the region.
The event aimed to commemorate Uncle Ho’s sentiment towards the region as well as his teachings to the officers and soldiers during his visits to the region.
On this occasion, the MR4’s Department of Political Affairs presented three second and ten third Nguyen Viet Xuan prizes to winners. The award is held annually, aiming to promote creativeness and military science research movement among troops.
