The information was announced at a press conference on October 10 by Ho Chi Minh City chapter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the municipal Press Center, and the Municipal Television.

The event was among a wide range of activities in response to the “For the Poor” Peak Month 2022, in celebration of the 92nd founding anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - 2022), and big festivals of Ho Chi Minh City.

Through this artistic program, the municipal Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee hoped that with the tradition of solidarity and compassion, agencies, units, armed forces, people from all walks of life, overseas Vietnamese will donate an estimate of some VND 40 billion to the municipal “For the Poor” Fund. 

The money raised from the program will be funded for practical activities, such as building, repairing houses of compassion, granting scholarships to disadvantaged students, presenting medical insurance cards, supporting means of livelihoods and others, as well as caring for the poor during the upcoming lunar New Year.

According to the Vice Chairman of the municipal Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Pham Minh Tuan, this year’s program will have numerous interesting artistic items, gathering well-known artists. Apart from raising funds for the poor, the program also popularizes new models, effective ways in poverty reduction and implementation of social security programs.

In this program, collectives, individuals, agencies, units, and enterprises accompanying the municipal “For the Poor” Fund will be honored.
