In her opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy emphasized that the event is a meaningful activity in celebration of the 94th anniversary of the foundation day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - 2024) and the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23). It aims to reinforce the strength of the great national unity bloc under the Party’s leadership and to honor and preserve Vietnam’s traditional cultural values. The week is set to bring a joyful and united atmosphere with diverse cultural activities.

With the theme of “Vietnam – An era of the nation’s rise,” the opening ceremony featured four parts: The melody of the Tinh musical instrument, gathered and shining heritage, a shared belief, and an era of the nation’s rise. Beyond a cultural program, the event conveyed the importance of preserving traditional cultural values and promoting the unity of the Vietnamese people.

Notable events during the week include demonstrations of traditional crafts such as brocade weaving and the Tinh musical instrument-making by the Tay, Nung, and Thai ethnic groups; reenactment of the Sayangva Festival of the Cho Ro ethnic group from Dong Nai Province; cultural exchange programs featuring folk songs, dances, and traditional games of the Khmer ethnic group; cultural exchange days of the Central Highlands and Northern ethnic groups, to name but a few.

* On the morning of November 16, the 7th festival of Then singing and the Tinh musical instrument was kicked off under the theme “Preserving and promoting the values of the Then singing and the Tinh musical instrument of the Tay, Nung, and Thai ethnic groups in the current context.” The program involved participations of artisans, performers, and people from 14 provinces and cities, celebrating and safeguarding the cultural traditions of the Tay, Nung, and Thai ethnic groups.
