The parade aims to honor the historic victory and affirm the resilience and unity of the Soviet people, as well as global progressive forces, in the fight against fascism.
The rehearsal saw the participation of military contingents from numerous countries. Among them, the Vietnam People's Army contingent was praised by the organizing panel as one of the formations marching evenly and beautifully. Their performance at the event showed the strength and strict discipline, qualities that have forged the power of the Vietnamese military in its 80-year history of combat, and growth.

Later the same day, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Nguyen Quang Ngoc visited and encouraged the Vietnamese officers and cadets taking part in the Red Square Parade.
Having been reported on the training results, Lt. Gen. Nguyen Quang Ngoc emphasized the significance of Vietnam’s participation in the event. He said that it is a valuable opportunity to elevate the image, status, and capabilities of the Vietnam People’s Army, a revolutionary, regular, elite, and gradually-modernized military that is ready to contribute to global efforts for peace and sustainable development.

Over the past time, Gen. Ngoc has regularly received updates on the delegation's daily training in Moscow. He commended the officers and soldiers for overcoming difficulties, making great progress through active training. The deputy chief of the General Staff urged the entire delegation to uphold the noble qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, strictly observe discipline, take care of their health, and maintain determination and unity to fulfill their mission with excellence, living up to the trust of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense.
