PANO – The 10th Gong Culture Festival opened at the cultural sport center in Duc trong district, Lam Dong province on March 31st. The theme of this year’s festival was “Youth and the Gong cultural heritage”.

This annual event aims to preserve honour and uphold the value of Gong culture - which is an intangible cultural heritage of humanity - as well as to strengthen solidarity among ethnic minority groups in Lam Dong province.

The festival showcased more than 500 Gong artisans this year. It included various activities, such as: fire ceremony, gong performance, “Ruou can” (drinking wine from a jar, using a pipe) contest, Central Highlands food festival, and the 5th certificate-granting ceremony which recognized 26 gong artisans.

The festival ended on April 1st.
