Provincial police department celebrates Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties
PANO – The Dien Bien provincial Police Department kicked off a program on September 5 to mark the 60th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties, and 45 years of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.
The three-day event includes sporting and artistic activities, attracting ten delegations from police departments of Dien Bien, Son La and Thanh Hoa provinces of Vietnam and their colleagues from Lao provinces of Luang Prabang, Phongsaly, Oudomxay, Luang Namtha, Bokeo, Sainyabuli, and Houaphanh.
In his opening speech, Senior Colonel Ngo Thanh Binh, Chief of the Dien Bien provincial Police Department, welcomed the participants and underlined that Vietnam and Laos are close neighbors. The two peoples have a traditional relation of long-lasting friendship, both in each country’s resistance wars for national independence and national development cause in the current context. The bilateral relationship has been further promoted by the two parties, states, and peoples.
Over the past time, police forces in Dien Bien, Son La and Thanh Hoa provinces have contributed to strengthening the friendship and solidarity with their Lao colleagues. Thus, such program will help two sides improve mutual understanding and learn more about their cultural identities.
