Ho Chi Minh City marks Cambodia’s victory over genocidal regime
The 39th anniversary of Cambodia’s victory over the Pol Pot genocidal regime was marked in Ho Chi Minh City on January 5.
Cambodian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Im Hen expressed his deep gratitude to the Party, Government, ex-volunteer soldiers and experts of Vietnam for their valuable support for Cambodian people to escape from the Pol Pot genocidal regime (January 7, 1979).
He said the progressive development that Cambodia gained in all aspects over the past 39 years was attributed to the close collaboration between the two countries’ Parties, Governments and people, particularly the assistance of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City, in the difficult periods in the 1980s and 1990s.
