Program held to promote patriotism for young generation
PANO - The Coast Guard Command under the Ministry of National Defense, in collaboration with the People's Police Academy under the Public Security Ministry and Quang Thien Secondary School, launched a competition entitled “I love national seas and islands” on July 19 in Quang Thien commune, Kim Son district, Ninh Binh province.

Accordingly, participants competed in their knowledge of Vietnam’s seas and islands, the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (1982 UNCLOS), the Vietnamese Law on the Sea 2012, operations and missions of the Vietnam Coast Guard and more.
After the program, the organizing panel presented first, second and third prizes to 9-grade students Tran Thi Thu Hien, Vu Thi Ngoc Anh, and Tran Quang Thanh and Do Nguyen Quynh Anh, respectively.
The Vietnam Coast Guard Command also handed over 10 bicycles and 20 gifts, worth VND 1 million each, to 30 poor students in Quang Thien secondary school. In addition, they also presented gifts to 11 policy households in Quang Thien commune.
During the program, the Coast Guard Command, the People’s Police Academy, a hospital of the Hanoi police department and relevant organizations provided free health checkups and medicines for 200 policy beneficiaries in the locality.
