The contest, launched by the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, Tourism Magazine, and Vietnam Photographic Artists’ Association in the beginning of this year, received 15,610 photos taken by 1,118 professional and amateur photographers nationwide and 14 foreigners living in Vietnam.

On September 24, the organizing panel held a ceremony to award the following 13 best photos capturing the beauty of the S-shaped country of Vietnam.

The first prize goes to photo “Boats of flowers” taken by Tran Minh Luong featuring the old quarter of Hoi An

The second prize belongs to “Morning dew” in Da Lat city taken by Le Nguyen Huy. This aerial photo captures mist covering Da Lat Pedagogy College designed by French architect Moncet and built in 1927.

The photo “In the mist” featuring the Golden Bridge in Da Nang taken by Nguyen Quang wins the second prize.

The photo of flyboard performers named “Dancers at sea” shot by Nguyen Tien Trinh won the third prize. Flyboarding is a sea adventurous sport using a set of skis with two thrusters, an engine and a jetski. Players fly up to 10 meters in the air and perform amazing acrobatics.

The photo “Ba Na Hills-Da Nang” by Huynh Van Truyen is among the five consolation prize winners. As a famous tourist attraction in Da Nang city, Ba Na Hills offers tourists a chance to experience four seasons in a day and entertainment activities.

The aerial photo “Train going through Le Son tunnel” by Tran Bao Hoa features a North to South train passing through a tunnel in Quang Binh province.

The photo “In the nature” by Nguyen Tien Duc captures two tourists diving to watch corals and colorful fish. Tourists can see corals in Vietnam when visiting tourist destinations such as Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Con Dao, and Da Nang.

The organizers also present prizes to the photos with a lot of likes and shares on the Tourism Magazine’s Facebook page. Specifically, the photo with the most likes is “Traditional dance” by Phan Minh Tho capturing a traditional Cham dance in front of the Banh It tower in Binh Dinh province.

“The family of mahout Y Vinh” by Duong Hoai An is the most shared photo.

The 13 winning photos and nearly 200 other photos of the contest are being exhibited at the Vietnam Military History Museum in Ba Dinh district, Hanoi until September 30.
