PANO – A press conference introducing the Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) Hanoi 2016 was held on February 22nd in Hanoi.

Having been held three times already, VITM has become an important annual event of the tourism sector of Vietnam as a whole and of Hanoi in particular. This is also part of the national Promotion program of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, aiming at developing VITM into a big regional and international tourism event.

VITM Hanoi 2016 will take place from April 14th to 17th, taking the theme “Vietnam – the land of sea and island tourism.” Thousands of tourism products will be offered to tourism businesses both at home and overseas with the regions in focus chosen being the capital of Hanoi, the Northwestern region, and the Central Highlands-South of Central region.

Various activities will be held at VITM 2016 Hanoi, including four international workshops and more than ten press briefings to introduce new tourism destinations and products.

As of February 18th, 465 booths have been registered, including 105 booths for foreign businesses from 24 countries and territories, including the Republic of Korea, Japan, Russia, the USA. At present, 535 tourism businesses have registered to join the event.

VITM 2016 Hanoi is patronized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People’s Committee of Hanoi, and sponsored by the Environmentally and Socially ResponsibleTourism Capacity Development Program (ESRT) funded by the European Union, Sagota Beer, and Vietnam Airlines.
