PANO - The Vietnam Travel Association (VTA) and the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) signed a cooperation agreement on April 7 within the framework of the Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) 2017, one of the region's largest travel shows taking place in Hanoi.
Accordingly, the deal aims to boost ties and cooperation between the tourism sectors of the two countries and help travel agencies expand their markets in both countries.
Addressing the signing ceremony, VTA Chairman Vu The Binh said that the U.S. is a potential market for the Vietnam's tourism sector, with hundreds of millions of overseas travelers every year. In recent years, the VTA put much effort on promoting closer relations with the ASTA in order to create favorable conditions for both sides' travel agencies to develop.
In turn, ASTA Vice President Robert Duglin said that Vietnam’s tourism market is developing positively alongside with the two countries' relationship. Vietnam is home to not only beautiful landscapes but also friendly people and colorful culture.
During their stay, the U.S. official and US travel agencies will explore Hanoi and go on a trans-Vietnam trip to gather more information for their tourist products.
