At the event, the two sides highly fruitful results of tourism cooperation between the two sides in recent years. Accordingly, the number of Chinese tourists to Vietnam reached 2.7 million in 2016, up by 51 percent from the previous year while the average growth rate was 20 percent in the 2010-2016 period. Meanwhile, China also welcomed 2.2 million Vietnamese tourists in 2015, and enjoyed an average growth rate of 19 percent in the period of 2010-2015.

In recent years, Chinese businesses have operated  their chartered flights to bring Chinese tourists to Vietnam. Vietnamese and Chinese airlines continuously opened new routes between the two countries to meet the increased demand of tourists for traveling between the two countries.

Moreover, the two sides coordinated closely with each other in organizing tourism promotion programs, and supported delegations of tourism companies and journalists with fact-finding trips to new tourist sites as well as participated in international tourism fairs in each other’s country in the coming time. In addition, China supported Vietnam to organize training courses on tourism management for Vietnamese tourism managers and workers.

Vietnam and China would continue to implement tourism cooperation agreements signed between the two countries, boost tourism promotion and develop tourism human resources within the framework of ASEAN - China tourism cooperation in the future.
