The annual tourism fair, first launched in 2005, is a great international tourism event for connecting five countries in the Mekong River downstream, namely Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. The event aims to boost the region’s tourism potential and strengthen cooperation among the Mekong countries.

This is also an opportunity for domestic tourism businesses, especially small- and medium-sized enterprises, to expand cooperation with potential tourism markets around the world. The fair also offers visitors a variety of promotion and discount programs.

In addition, the event will feature several activities such as a workshop on introducing key and potential markets in 2017, a seminar on MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events) tourism development in Ho Chi Minh City. These activities are to help participants learn from the world’s leading tourism experts, in order to boost tourism development and related applications of the tourism industry.

This year’s tourism fair attracts the participation of more than 300 international tourism customers and regions such as Australia, Canada, China, and France, to name but a few. The participants will take part in a survey for Vietnamese popular tourism attractions such as Can Gio Mangrove Forest (Ho Chi Minh City), Can Tho city, and Da Lat city, in order to lure investment and seek cooperation opportunities, contributing to promoting Vietnam’s tourism in the region and beyond.
