The participating projects will have a chance to get funding from the city’s program for supporting startups projects called SpeedUp, with priority given to startup ideas about travel, accommodation, tourist transport, and payment for the sector.
They will be evaluated based on factors such as novelty, innovation, technology application, economic efficiency, and social impact.
The organizers expect to receive some 40 projects, and then 20 projects will go to mentoring and training rounds. The final round will take place in October on the occasion of the city’s Innovative Startups in Tourism Week.
Also at the launching ceremony, the two departments inked a cooperation agreement to join hands in mobilizing resources to further develop the city’s tourism sector.
