Mr. Bernard Weber, the Chairman of the New Open World Organisation, on September 27th handed over a certificate allowing Halong Bay in Quang Ninh Province to enter the final round of the selection program of New 7 Wonders, launched by the Organization.
Mr. Weber said that he was impressed by the beauty of Halong Bay at his first visit to the landscape. He affirmed that he will vote for Halong to be a new wonder of nature and mobilize international community to vote for Halong Bay.
According to Pham Minh Chinh, the Secretary of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, the Province will launch different voting formalities including voting through messages by cell phones for Halong Bay. The Province will also have plans to turn Halong Bay into an attractive destination for Vietnamese and international visitors.
The result of the selection program will be announced on November 11th.
